Finally Home

We left Ottawa at 7:30am and arrived home in Marathon at 11:00pm. A 15.5 hour drive, which took 6 hours from Sault St. Marie to Marathon. The roads were great up to the Sault and then the snow and wet roads began. There wasn’t much traffic but the roads were unplowed and slippery.

At White Lake there was a transport truck in the ditch and the police were there and transports were backed up on the road. But we made it home safely and were glad to be back.

Ottawa: Auto Show

car-show.png

Left the house at 10:00am and headed into the city to the Market. We parked at the Rideau Center and walked up to the Ottawa Conference Center for the Auto Show. But the Auto Show was at the Congress Center, attached to the Westin Hotel and Rideau Center. A short walk later we were at the Auto Show.

Ottawa: Dragged Out Of Bed

The dogs were up very early this morning and dragged me out of bed at 7:30am to take them for a walk. It started to snow this morning and Sandy liked that.

We are all heading down to the Auto Show later this morning. It is being held at the Congress Center (The former Main Train Station for Ottawa). I have never been in this building so it should be exciting.

As I have wondered the city I have notices that air fairs are much cheaper here than in Marathon. I have seen prices from Ottawa to Lima. Peru for $749 and Quito for $789. The cheapest we have gotten in Marathon is $1600. What’s up with that.

Ottawa: Shopping

Spent the morning and afternoon with Noel and Mel. Started the day with breakfast at the French Bakery in the Market. Then went to Chapters to look at books. I picked up 2 Helboy novels. Then we went to MEC (Mountain Equipment Coop) where I picked up some travel cloths.

I left Noel and Mel and headed to Ginn Photography, where I picked up some photo quality printer paper on rolls. Then headed back to Orleans and took the dogs for a walk.

Ottawa: Slow Morning

Have not been sleeping well and managed to sleep in this morning. Noel took the dogs for a run while I was sleeping. The dogs have become expert escape artists since we have arrived, Mel puts up barriers around the house to prevent the dog from roaming into different rooms. The dogs have figured out how to move the barriers at will and roam the house as they see fit.

Found out that the 21th Edition of the Auto Show is here in town and starts tomorrow. I will probably take Noel and her dad. There is a huge section in the Ottawa Citizen today about it.

Well I am off to the Market to have breakfast at the French Bakery and meet Chris and Cory.
