Visa Requirements

I have started gathering data for our planned trip this summer. We have added Jordon to the list of destinations, so we can visit Petra and possibly Cyprus. First off I started searching Canada’s External Affairs for visa requirements for the various countries we plan to travel to, as well as transit countries (not visiting but will travel through).
Last Day in Austria…

We have hiked for 11 days straight in the rain, and now that the sun has come out, it is time to leave… oh well, we enjoyed ourselves anyways. We did get to see a herd of wild mountain goats for the first time in the 14 years we have been hiking here – that was pretty exciting. It was lots of fun to stand very still on the mountains and watch them as they watched us – they are very skittish, so they are rare to see. We were lucky enough to have some fantastic hiking guides, and some great company on our last few hikes in the Alps. Of course, the best part is arriving at the mountain huts for the food – there’s something about traditional Tiroler food that gives you a great sense of comfort, especially on cold rainy days. Many of our friends from France are quite happy to sit and discuss the intricacies of fine food and good meals in the same way that Canadians sit and talk about the weather. It was a lot more fun to discuss where to find the best chocolate in Paris than it would have been to discuss how wet we were and how rainy and cloudy it was outside. Of course what we mean by “cloudy” is the cloud you walked through at the altitude you hiked at to get to the hut.
Raining in Innsbruck

Hey!
The weather we were told to expect in Scotland did not catch up with us until we reached Innsbruck. It has been raining for 6 days straight, and we’re a little water logged, as we have been hiking every day regardless. We are very happy to have landed here at the same time as so many of our hiking friends…Isabelle, Eric, Pascalle, Vera, Patrick… we have yet to see Anne, Peter, Dean, Catherine and Petra, and of course we all are feeling the loss of Gordon this year.
Finally in Innsbruck

After two days of travel to get here, we have arrived. We spent the day in London yesterday, just bumming around the markets and fashionable streets before taking off to Salzburg.
Finally Packed

Well Noel and I have finally finished packing for our trip to Scotland and Austria. It took several tries and repacks to get all the items we need for the summer packed. New it is just a waiting game until we fly out.
