Floating Market

We checked one of our life list destinations off of our list of places to go today. We got to visit the floating market outside of Bangkok – made famous to Westerners by James Bond (The Man With The Golden Gun).

Ayutthaya

The last two days have been a whirlwind of activity, as we left the city and checked out sights further afield.

Yesterday, we hired our buddy “Mr. T” the taxi driver to take us out to the ancient capital of Thailand, Ayutthaya.

Bankok – day 3(?)

How long have we been gone? I’m not too sure right now…

The good news is Sandie’s home – it feels like we can start our vacation now. Kylie called us at 5:00 AM this morning to let us know the good news. I had a bit of an undignified meltdown from relief – George wouldn’t let me talk to her on the phone, as I was a little out of control. Thank you to everyone who helped.

First Four Days…

The last four days have been a whirlwind of activity, confusion, kindness and heartbreak.

We were fortunate enough to be given a ride to the airport by our good friends the Inwoods, and we had a reasonable flight to Helsinki, and an enjoyable day exploring the city before returning to the airport to find out we were being upgraded to first class because the flight was overbooked. Let me tell you – it’s not just bigger seats in first class, it’s a whole world of difference.
