At The Markets

We spent today wandering various markets in valleys between enormous volcanoes. The market at Otavalo is a Indigenous handicraft market full of textiles, jewelry, and woolen sweaters. It is the biggest craft market in Ecuador, and it was interesting to wander around the goods and people. We didn’t buy anything, but we took lots of pictures of the people.
We Made It

After two flights and a day of listlessly milling around in the Atlanta airport, followed by another two flights, we made it to Ecuador in two days. (I am starting to feel like Jacob Two Two – for fans of Mordecai Richler children’s classics).
We spent today adjusting to the altitude (Its different here…ha ha ha.) Quito sits at almost 3000m above sea level, so we slowly moved around the old town, checking out the Spanish and Moorish influenced architecture of the churches, monasteries and public buildings.
