Ottawa: Passport & Eye Doctor

Noel and I were up early, as the dogs will not let us sleep beyond sun rise at 6:30am, and headed down town to the passport offices on Sparks St. Our number was 107, they were on 44 when we arrived. 90 minutes later we make it to the front of the line. 30 minutes after that we were done. We managed to get a rush on the passports and a 48 page passport, which is cool (we filled our last passports).

Well we were up early today because we had to meet Chris in the Market for breakfast. By the time we found a parking spot (our usual parking spot is not a condo complex) in the Market Chris had already arrived in front of Chapters.

We went off to Zacks for breakfast and had bacon, eggs, and toast and made plans for sight seeing around the Capital Hill area of Ottawa. Chris and I said good by to Noel, who was doing some shopping with Mel (her mom) around town today, and headed do to the Royal Canadian Mint. We reserved a place for the next tour of the Mint which was at 11:30am which was over an 90 minutes away. So Chris and I went to the Art Gallery.

Ottawa: Breakfast In The Market

We were up early this morning and all went for breakfast at the French Bakery in the Market. They make the best croissant I have had outside of France and the cafe au lait comes in a small bucket.

There have been too many changes to the Market area over the years, our favorite parking lot is now a condo, all the one way streets are now two way and some idiot thought it would be a good idea to place the American Embassy in the middle of the historic part of the Market. Other than that the Market still maintains a lot of it charm.

Arrived In Ottawa

Finally arrived in Ottawa. The roads were great all the way through and we missed the bad weather that had been forecasted. The drive took 13.5 hours and we all had more than enough of the van when we got here. Sandy and Andy were perfect dogs on the trip, making absolutely no fuss about the long hours being couped up in the van.

I am so tired. I am going to have something to eat and go to bed.

Leaving For Ottawa

Got the van packed and ready to go, just have to put the dogs in and we are off. It is about 18 degrees below Celsius. The van is warned up, Andy does not like to get into a cold van. It should be a good day to travel, the sky is clear and the sun is out.
