Tibet

Hi,
We only have time for a really fast post – the internet is hard to find in Tibet.

We finished our Annapurna hike in 3 days, and walked around like we had wooden legs for 3 days after, as we descended 1750m of stone stairs in one day. It was amazing, and I’d do it again – but over more time – in a second (we’ll give more details later…)

We’ve been in Tibet for a week now, acclimatizing to the altitude before we hike to the Everest Base Camp in two days. We’ve visited lots of monasteries and temples. The Chinese presence here is depressing – you can literally see the line of advance where old Tibet is being bulldozed and replaced with soulless communist construction. I’m glad we’ve come to see it before Tibet’s gone.

We’re off to hike a Kora around a monastery here in Shigahtse. We’ll be home soon… as always – we miss our friends, families and doggie.
