Leaving Quito

We are leaving for the airport in 30 min to catch a plane to Lima, Peru. We had a quiet day just wandering the streets, window shopping, and we wrote some postcards. Not much else. It was nice to have some down time after the frenzied pace our guide Peter set for us in the Galapagos (but it does feel weird walking the streets and not having to look out for iguanas and sea lions). We both have a bit of “land sickness”from being on the boat for 10 days – it feels like the solid ground we are walking on is heaving under our feet like the swells under the boat. It’s pretty funny not being able to keep your balance when the ground stays still.
Will be arriving in Lima around 7:30pm, and tomorrow we head off to Puno, our jumping off point for Lake Titticaca.
