1) Don’t take traveler cheques to Eastern or Western Europe. They are hard to cash and you get screwed on commissions. Bank machines are everywhere and most accept bank cards that work on the Plus system. By withdrawing money from a bank machine you get the bank rate of exchange and it with cost you at the most $2:50 for a transaction fee.

2) Most Americans traveling are claiming they are Canadian and even have Canadian flags attacked to their backpacks.

3) What ever you do don’t purchase a first class train ticket in Eastern Europe, most trains due not have first class accommodation’s even though they we sell you the over priced ticket. Bite the bullet and life through second class.

4) Don’t use “Lonely Planet” as your guide book. We have found over the last two years that the data contained in these guides is out dates and extremely inaccurate. This has also been verified by many other travelers we have encountered.

5) Extremely cheap air flights in Europe with www.ryanair.com
