Last Day in Hong Kong

We got up late, 8:30 am. I think jet lag is taking hold, as we find we cannot stay up very late, but are forcing ourselves to stay up to get quickly adjusted to the time change (18 hours difference).

The day started with a down pour of rain like I have not seen in years. The harbor clouded over in a matter of minutes. It was so bad that the view from our window that lets us see Hong Kong and the typhoon harbor were completely gone and we could only see across the street.

We took a taxi to harbor City Mall for a coffee and breakfast. Along the way we past the Jade Market, which is just up the street from our hotel. Walked to the Jade Market from Harbor City. It was interesting, but a lot of the same stuff over and over again. Then we walked up to Nathan Road in search of the bird market. In the process it started to rain again. The rain ponchos got a good test run in heavy wind and rain.

We got direction from a very nice Chinese gentleman. By this time we were getting hungry and stopped in a small noodle shop and had Won Ton soup, vegetables and rice with minced pork. The food was very filling. We had a coffee drink with these tapioca beads in it.

After lunch we went in search of the Bird Market but did not find it. At this point we were both tired and went back to the hotel to rest before our group meeting.
